History of Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association
Over 30 years, Main Street has been focused on recovery, preservation and beautification of our historic downtown business. We invite you to experience our unique downtown!

The Downtown Paso Robles Main Street Association was established in 1988 as a “demonstration city” of the California Main Street Program, coordinated by the California Department of Trade and Commerce and the National Main Street Program, coordinated under the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Being designated a “Main Street Demonstration City” has provided tremendous credibility to our goals and efforts in revitalizing Downtown Paso Robles. Since 1988, downtown has re-emerged as the center of the city. Through Main Street, we have a thriving retail center that utilizes its historic landmarks and has a clear-cut identity. We have become an example to other cities of what is possible with a dedicated community.

As a Main Street America™ accredited program, Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America™ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.

As a California Downtown Association™ member, Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association is a participating member among the statewide strong network of professionals whose work is shaping the future of our downtowns and community business districts. The California Downtown Association™ membership program is committed to the long term preservation and prosperity of business districts everywhere. Our membership provides beneficial resources to shape and support the future of our local Paso Robles Downtown District.
