Take the Wine Barrel Stroll

While enjoying the charming downtown of Paso Robes be sure to look for the artist painted wine barrel planters, sponsored by Paso Robles Main Street Association. Norma Moye, Director of Paso Roles Main Street Association came up with the idea of sponsoring the first community art project for the City of Paso Robles. There were more than 100 wine barrel planters located in front of downtown businesses, many which needed repair or replacement. Norma’s idea to replace all of the planters with artist painted barrels has been implemented with the help of community members. Laure Carlisle, a local artist and Main Street art liaison, gathers local artists to volunteer their talent, and work with local businesses to create designs that represent their identities. Local wineries donate barrels and The Rental Depot prepared the barrels for artists to paint at Laure’s studio. When the barrels are completed, Tom Flynn, Sr. and John and Laure Carlisle deliver to the business for planting.
